If I don't trust a site I will not enter it, simple as that... me entering a site is entrusting Admin(s) with the info supplied... that info is willingly given, there is no clause that states I must waive my right to privacy while adding this contact in case he or she receives personal info by breaching protocol...

Getting a bit off topic here...exactly as Three6Mafia said, he gives out his information to sites - you don't give your information to programs which check if you are deleted or online or whatever. This is a breach of privacy and there is no doubt about that. The matter of the fact now is, whether TB wants his program to be a contributer to the largely growing field of online privacy breaching.

u dont even need extra addons to see if sumone deleted u or not... msn does that to.. when u go to options and go to privacy settings.. right click a contact.. and if u can delete that contact.. it meens ure no longer on his contact list.. even if the contact is online.. he could still have deleted u but didnt block u..
u may need to sign out and sign back in to see changes take effect This post has been edited by Dédé: Feb 18 2007, 03:17 PM |

Thats good and dandy 'n' all but also if your contact has "Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages.", Enabled. Can alter the result u get when "Veiwing" the "See who has added you to thier contact list."
Just tested this with a secondary account, it will detect "deletion" but only when the contact has disabled "Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages." ![]() M$ may have alot of security holes in thier OS but i purely doubt they would make it _THAT_ easy to view who has you on thier "Contact List". *Three6Mafia Huggles the privacy option* This post has been edited by Three6Mafia: Feb 18 2007, 10:39 PM -------------------- |

Just tested this with a secondary account, it will detect "deletion" but only when the contact has disabled "Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages." I just tested it with my sub account and it made no difference (I just had to sign out so that messenger would resync my lists). Let me explain how a feature like this works. On the messenger contact servers you have not just one list but you have several different lists. These lists are Allow List, Contact List, Block List, Pending List and Reverse List The contact list is for the people who actually show up in your list, and the allow and block lists store who you have allowed/blocked respectively. The pending list is somewhat new and doesn't matter for this discussion. The reverse list is a list that contains the people who have you on their contact list (allow and block lists don't count). If you remove someone from your contact list, you get removed from that person's reverse list. So, all you have to do is figure out how to check your reverse lists against the list of users that should be on it (Contact List). Messenger will cache your lists and only update them occasionally to save bandwidth. So if you use messenger's list, the data is not always going to be up to date. I have attached a simple program which demonstrates this feature. (It uses messenger's internal libraries to check the lists) To see the who is on your contact list, but not in your reverse list, open the program, click the "Get List" button, and then from the drop down box, select "-RL +FL" (This means not on reverse list, but on Forward List. Where Forward list is another name for the contact list.) As for putting this feature in StuffPlug, I will leave that to TheBlasphemer to decide. I personally feel this feature is rather pointless. Yes, I just restarted my WLM after deleting _ITS_ cache(to force replacement) and it gave me those results... just couldn't edit the post to say so and refrained from a "Double Post". Intriguing program, makes alot more sense after looking at it from that perspective...
I fail to see how this feature would affect anyones WLM experience... In a +positive+ manor -------------------- |

That is one cool tool. But it doesn't need to be put into StuffPlug.

The tool itself was provided for more understanding, this tool wont be encorperated into stuffplug, we are talking about the feature of being able to see who has deleted you...

Was that statement directed at me? If it was, I'm aware of that, if not, now everyone else knows!

That is one cool tool. But it doesn't need to be put into StuffPlug. Yes it was.. That line actually made it sound like you were refering to that particular tool, as the second sentence does not contain a reference to anything else. So based on the structure of those sentences it leads One to believe you were refering to the "cool tool", so to speak. -------------------- |

Ah right sorry. Well what I meant was, it's a very interesting program, but I don't think it should be put into StuffPlug.

I agree with MattyDun, and if TB wishes to implement it then this thread will be pinned, but until then: Thread Closed!
