Scripting, Anyone want to give it a shot ? Options

Hey,

As some of you had already noticed, the main scripting stuff is already in StuffPlug 3.5 in the experimental section.
Unfortunately, it's all far from being finished, and I've got to admit that I no longer have the motivation or inspiration to finish it up properly.
After reading some questions from people wanting to know how to get started, a little idea sprang to mind.

I want to set up a little team similar to the beta testing team to specifically help me test and develop scripting.
This team would get access to the current documentation, a mailinglist to stay in touch with others and me, and the ability to provide me feedback on the scripting API.
People I'd be looking for for in that team would have to know their way around JScript and have experience in scripting for other applications (e.g. Plus!, mIRC).

If you think you could be of any help on that team, please leave a response to this thread or contact me directly at tb[at]stuffplug.com. Don't forget to mention what would make you a valuable asset to this team, and how you feel you could help SP development

I have a good mIRC scripting experience, but I'm already a beta tester and a translator... I don't think I would be able to test even the scripting engine!
I could help someone from Italy which is really interested in scripting, and who I know has already sent you a mail, if he whishes. He has been asking me about scripting since months, so I hope he will be part of the scripting team!

I have basic knowledge of mIRC scripting... No, to little knowledge of JScript but am willing to learn further.
Regardless, I would like to see the scripting engine of SP 3.5/4.0 up and running, and the possible improvements an SP Scripting engine may have on both WLM and the further popularity of Stuffplug as a major ranked addon.

I have experience with HTML JavaScripting and Plus! Live scripts, and I'd love to use these for SP Scripting. I'd love to be able to mess with the Messenger GUI and create Messenger-styled windows to deliver interesting features. I think that if we can develop the scripting API in such way that it's complete yet easy to program, a lot of possibilities will be opened which were impossible to do before, and I'd like to help you with achieving just that. You already know me as a BETA-tester, so now I'd love to join the scripting team too.

Try to add functions that Plus! haven't
It was cool if we could "hack" the messenger (as stuffplug) with that functions =)

I would also like to help improving the scripting engine, as this looks a lot more promising than the Plus! one. I know JScript and C++ (and I have some experience from MSNCore from skinning and coding) and I'm about to learn assembly. I hope I can be useful to the team.

I have like 7-8 years experience in mIRC, and know about PHP, Javascript, and Java too. I have never looked into Plus! because I simply don't use it...

I don´t have experience in script like the others above this message, but i´d like to be a translator. I saw in this new version that there´s no Portuguese language available.

So, how can i become a translator???

You PM x2zen (the language coordinator) stating your request. However the latest version of StuffPlug does not include all the latest translations yet, which means that there may already be a translator for the language you are wishing to help out with. None-the-less talking to x2zen about it would be the best course of action...(unless he comes on and replies to this post before you get a chance to PM him)
