hi. im new here.
i heard from a friend that when block talk is applied, the person you've blocked would not be able to see the change in name or pm. however, my friends are still able to see a change in the name when i use block talk on them could someone please clarify if this is already in stuffplug and it is my computer's problem, if not, could it be implemented? thanks also, the friendly name editor doesnt work all the time. some times, i am able to change it without having to the options, and other times i still have to go to the options. could someone help me here? thanks |

The easy name changer function in the contact list is extremely faulty, this especially true if you're using WLM 8.5.
As for the blocked talking fucntion, in my opinion that's faulty also, allowing contacts to continue talking with you even after you've blocked them and closed a conversation with them. So based on the assumption it is faulty, I would suppose you would see some other effects, i.e. being able to see changes in name/pm. Offtopic, a bit: How's this for a theory on how the blocked talking function currently works - Messenger doesn't actually "block" the contact as such. Instead it applies a fake label saying the contact is blocked, making it seem to both of you like the person is actually blocked, however the connection is still going in a usual manor as if the contact wasn't blocked at all. (That's pretty cool if I just guessed that's actually how it's been designed to work Compared to SP2, where the blocked label was apparent but when the blocker closed the conversation, the connection was closed.
