Hi!
It's not very often I post a topic going angry or setting down rules, but I think this rule (and courtesy) is one that needs to be made aware of and enforced. Any flaming or putting down between Messenger add-ons (StuffPlug, MessengerDiscovery and Messenger Plus!) will NOT be tolerated. Right now the developers of the add-ons have a good relationship and are all here to do one thing - make WLM better! Nasty comments (such as flaming) not only hurts the developers but also causes needless fights. So from now on, if anyone is caught flaming either of the three add-ons will be banned from the MessengerDiscovery forums and also the StuffPlug forums. Thanks for your co-operation, lets not let the small percentage of idiots ruin it for all of us |

For those of you that are unaware the forum rules have been up for some time and can be found in the top left of every SP forum page, or here.

Thanks for your co-operation, lets not let the small percentage of idiots ruin it for all of us Let me get this straight if I said "Messenger Live Discovery sucks." I would get banned from StuffPlug and MLD (if I had an account there) forums. But.... what if I stated my own opinion politely like "I don't like Messenger Live Discovery" Would I still get banned? Just curious. P.S. I use Messenger Live Plus, Stuff Plug, Messenger Live Discovery and Mess.be patch so I can't really complain about any. P.P.S. If this is about the time I sort of raged when I heard Discovery stole my idea, I apologize (but they still should have PMed or somthing me and asked if they could post it in their forums). I think people obviously can state they favour another software but saying "xxxx software sucks" is a silly comment. You could state "I don't use xxxx because of xxxx lack of features" or "xxxx isn't for me user-friendly". Opinions matter but giving names without meaning is just, well mean.

@EaglesNestOone
If there's anyone here who's guilty of bagging out other add ons (MDL) all the time, it's me. I doubt it's because you said they stole your idea. This post has been edited by Aardvark: May 16 2007, 06:10 AM -------------------- |

Hey! I personally didn't steal any ideas People are free to state opinions, but it's the extremities that we are cracking down on. If someone doesn't like something it's best to tell the person who made it so they can fix it, random bashing doesn't serve any purpose. |

A bit offtopic: Well I guess you'll all be glad to know I actually took Matt's advice and went and joined the MDL forums and expressed why I thought it was a crap program, and hey turns out they're planning to fix one of the things I have against it.

The need to run it's own process, I just find that ridiculous and I'm glad they're going to fix it in 2.0. The other problem I have with it is that when trying to uninstall it, it can't END this process, which further more adds to the stupidity of the program. And even still, after uninstalling it wouldn't even delete it's program files folder - so essentially it hasn't even uninstalled!!

True, but when your computer takes 5-10 minutes to boot up, and despite disabling every process you don't need, it still takes ages...and it's somewhat reassuring when you know some of those processes that are booting up won't all be trying to use large sums of memory, which inevitably slows the entire procedure down.
That said 1-3mb is hardly a large sum of memory -------------------- |
